Welcome to a new year, with new goals and new opportunities. For many of us, this is a time of reflection which often results in resolutions to improve ourselves, resolutions that often fade away rather quickly. Real change requires conversion deep within, especially true in our relationship with God’s creation.
In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis calls us to Ecological Conversion, an “ecological spirituality grounded in the convictions of our faith, since the teachings of the gospel have direct consequences for our way of thinking, feeling and living.” (LS 216) The Holy Father tells us that “Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience.” (LS 217).
As you reflect on your goals for 2022, please consider your place within God’s creation and hear His call to live sustainably…where there is “Enough for all forever.” (https://www.pathwaystosustainableliving.org)
