Mark your calendar for the family! Getting Past or Preventing Food Fights: The food/body contradiction August 19, 2023 9:30AM-12:30PM All Saints Parish Hall How is your relationship with food and movement? Please join us for a morning of stories and discussion. Hear from three parishioners about how their relationship with food, family, mental health, and spirituality have affected them. Specifically, each person will share three aspects of their journey and we will have small group discussions after each of them.
Formation – what we learned about food and how we were influenced in our childhood, and how God enters into that story.
Struggle – how we struggled to live out these childhood ideals in our adult life – and how God allowed us to fail in our flawed efforts.
Letting Go – where we have successfully let go of childhood errors and how our walk with God has allowed some healing.
Lastly, we will also have some fueling tips from a professional that can help keep the peace at mealtime and help children and adults to have better relationships with food.
The event is free and there will be separate activities available for younger children. Bring the whole family! Kids will have several activities including a visit to our own parish charity garden for a lesson from our Master Gardners!
