Movie Night at All Saints’ Parish Hall: “Father Ryan: A Higher Call”
Friday, August 18th at 6pm - snacks and drinks provided.
Come see a beautiful, professional docu-drama about the life of Servant of God Fr. Patrick Ryan, former pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Basilica (“SSPP”) in Chattanooga, directed and produced by SSPP parishioners to further Fr. Ryan’s sainthood cause.
During the Chattanooga yellow fever epidemic of 1878, Fr. Ryan stayed behind to tend to the sick and dying when most of the residents fled to the hills. He gave his life to serve all, regardless of their religion.
The film has already been selected to screen at three prestigious Christian Film festivals and has garnered two award nominations at the International Christian Film Fedtival.
A delegation from the Basilica, including our former associate pastor, Fr. David Carter (rector of SS P&P) will be traveling to Rome this October to present the Holy Father with evidence of favors Fr. Ryan has already granted to those praying for his intercession. This will be the next step in seeking official Church recognition of Fr. Ryan as a saint.
