This ministry enhances our liturgies with appropriate and inspiring music to encourage participation of the faithful assembled to praise and adore at the Eucharistic Banquet. If you are interested in serving God and the All Saints community by sharing your musical talents in one of the music groups – adults, youth, children, funeral, or wedding please contact Andrew Ballew @ 865-851-4366 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I would like to thank everyone at All Saints for a wonderful first two months as the new director of Music Ministries! We have hit the ground running with preparations for Holy Week and the Easter Season! We are also taking advantage of some new opportunities to serve our vibrant Parish life. For the first time ever, we are singing every Lenten Friday at the 6pm Sta-tions of the Cross. We will also be signing at Stations on Good Friday at 3pm. If you have ever thought about serving here at All Saints in song and voice, singing at Stations is an excellent 'easy' opportunity to do so! Come join us on Good Friday, at 2:30 for practice!
The choir will be providing music for our Holy Week and Easter observances. In addi-tion to our normal schedule, this year we will be leading the chaplet in song on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 3, at the 3pm chaplet service! In years past we have used a prerecorded 'CD', but this year we will providing live singing, and I am very, very excited about this opportunity!
As we go through the Easter season, and approach what is normally our 'slow' time during the summer months, I am going to take the opportunity to focus on 'growth.' Here in SEC football country, we here so much about 'recruiting,' so, just like the football coach, I am going into 'Recruiting Mode'. I am looking for ANYONE who is willing to make a 'joyful noise' to the Lord! Most everyone can carry a tune, and in our choir practices we learn more than just the songs we sing; we learn HOW to sing. So ALL are invited that wish to participate. You will be hearing more from me as I try to expand our choir beyond the 8:15am choir mass into ser-vice at the 5pm, 10am, and 11:45am weekend masses. I hear so many wonderful voices in our congregation as you come forward for communion, sing in the pew, etc. So I know you are out there! I want you to know there is an open door at choir practice, and you are wanted andwelcome. Oh, we practice on Wednesday evenings at 6:30, just so you know!
Thank you again for the opportunity to serve as your Music Ministry Director. I am looking forward to a GREAT 2016 at All Saints Parish! --Andrew Ballew
